Terms of service
These terms are the agreement between you and HairSync when you use the app at gethairsync.com. They're written to be read. If something is unclear, email info@gethairsync.com.
Who we are
HairSync is an independent business based in Quebec, Canada. "We" and "us" on this page mean HairSync.
Your account and your salon
- You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
- An account is for one person. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else got into your account.
- Your account works in a salon: the calendar, clients and subscription your team shares. A stylist on their own is a salon of one. The salon's owners invite stylists, choose who else is an owner, and manage the subscription.
- Everyone in a salon sees its calendar and its clients, with their notes, formulas and photos. You're responsible for what happens in your account, and owners for who they let into the salon.
Your salon's information and your clients'
- What you put in HairSync belongs to your salon. We store it and show it to the salon's members so the app works. We don't sell it, share it for advertising, or claim any rights over it.
- You decide what you write down about your clients. Make sure you're allowed to keep it, especially photos and contact details, the same way you would in a paper card file. Our privacy policy explains how we look after it.
- Text reminders go to your clients in your salon's name, with the salon's phone number. Turn them off for any client who doesn't want them.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile. If you're the only person in your salon, that also deletes the salon with its clients, notes, photos and appointments. If others work there, your account leaves and the salon stays; an only owner names another owner first.
The free plan
A salon on the free plan holds up to 100 clients, with any number of stylists, appointments, notes and photos. It sends no text reminders. Reaching the limit only stops the salon from adding new clients. Nothing already saved is ever locked or deleted.
The subscription
- The subscription is the salon's, and it's priced per stylist: CA$20 a month or CA$200 a year per stylist in Canada, US$20 a month or US$200 a year in the United States, and €20 a month or €200 a year everywhere else (converted to your currency at checkout outside the euro area). Sales tax or VAT where the salon is is added on top and shown before you pay.
- Everyone in the salon counts as a stylist, owners included. When someone joins, the subscription goes up from that day; when someone leaves, it goes down. The difference for the rest of the period shows on the next invoice.
- It removes the client limit and sends text reminders for the salon's appointments.
- The subscription is sold through Link, a Stripe service that acts as the seller: it takes the payment, collects the tax, and sends receipts and invoices. We never see or store your full card number.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year until it's cancelled. Yearly subscribers get an email reminder before the renewal.
- You can switch from monthly to yearly at any time. The year is charged right away, minus the unused part of the month. A switch from yearly to monthly happens at the end of the paid year.
- If we ever change the price, we'll email the salon's owners at least 30 days before it applies to them.
Cancelling and refunds
- An owner can cancel at any time from "Manage billing" on the subscription page. The subscription stays on until the end of the period paid for, then the salon goes back to the free plan and text reminders stop. Nothing is deleted.
- If the salon holds more than 100 clients when the subscription ends, everything stays open to look up, edit and book, but new clients wait until the salon subscribes again or is back to 100 clients.
- Refunds: if you're not happy, email us (or ask Link) within 7 days of a payment and that payment is refunded in full. After 7 days, we don't refund part of a month or year.
- This doesn't take away any refund rights you have under the law where you live.
Fair use
Please don't use HairSync to break the law, to store things you have no right to keep, to try to get into other people's accounts, to overload or scrape the app, or to resell it. We may suspend an account that does, and we'll tell you why when we can.
The service
- HairSync is a small, independent service. We work hard to keep it running and your data safe, with continuous backups, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable or never have a bug.
- We may change or improve features. If we ever remove something you pay for, or stop running HairSync, we'll tell you ahead of time and make sure you can get your data out.
- To the extent the law allows, HairSync is provided as is, and our responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits rights that consumer protection law gives you.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email you before the change applies. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and of Canada that apply there.
